Get to know the artist: Marcos Alonso

Half Spanish half Irish English raised Marcos grew up through the beginnings of the British rave scene.

Exposed to House and Techno as a teenager a love of clubbing led to a dj’ing career from the age of 17 and a dabbling in production for some years now. Working it out front and behind the scenes his love for all things electronic have only grown stronger over the years.

Having moved around the world, finally settling in New Zealand where he has cemented himself in the House music scene and a firm favourite with crowds.

His infectious grin lights up a dance floor - with a style that is eclectic, fun, deep, sometimes dark with a splash of punk... but never predictable - the journey will take you to places you have never been before.

Marcos has supported international acts such as Nickodemus and The Illustrious Blacks and is a firm favourite on the New Zealand Festival circuit, notably playing not one but five sets at Splore festival - voted one of the world’s top 20 music festivals, stepping up to fill in for John Morales.
